Attached wings and Ailerons

I got help from 5 others this morning and we went ahead and attached the wings. It was relatively straight forward after preparing the bolts and greasing everything. I sharpened two sacrificial bolts to help align them.

After installation I was able to check the doors for clearance from the struts, and the wings. It's near perfect, with about 2 inches clearance from the strut. When opened, the doors sit about 3/8 inches below the lower wing skin.

We then torqued all wing and aileron attachment bolts, and installed the ailerons. These are not torqued up yet, and need to be adjusted. We connected the forward and aft aileron cables snd checked for correct movement.

There are a few issues to work through and resolve now. We had to remove the left fuel tank to gain enough access to secure the wing fairleads after discovering the left aileron cable hadn't been routed correctly. It's now routed correctly and I'll lock wire the fairleads tomorrow.

The aileron cables rub against the wing strut, as a lot of builders have mentioned previously. I'll make some adjustments and see if it can be changed, otherwise I'll install a nylon rub block.

Overall a very productive day. Tomorrow I'll buy some supplies and go to work on many of the small items to resolve on my work list.
