Rudder - Dimpling and Back Riveting

Today I accomplished the following:

  1. Countersunk the Lead counterweight. Match drilled the counter weight into the rib and dimpled the counterweight rib.
  2. Dimpled both the left and the right rudder skin.
  3. Dimpled the rudder spar, Tip Rib, rudder horn brace, attach strips and the lower Rib.
  4. Countersunk the VA-140 trailing edge on both sides and cleaned it up with denatured alcohol. Cleco the trailing edge to the skin and made sure everything was still straight and that the counter sinks accepted the skin dimples properly.
  5. Dimpled all of the skin stiffeners.
  6. Back Riveted the stiffeners to the left skin.
