Empennage Kit Delivered

After 2 months of waiting, my empennage kit has arrived from Van's Aircraft. I spent the intervening time buying tools, outfitting the shop, and building a couple of practice projects. This evening after work I'll crack open this gigantic crate and start inventorying the contents. I might postpone a full inventory until tomorrow, since I'm expecting an McMaster-Carr delivery of a bunch of shelving tomorrow. Right now I don't have a great place to store the parts after I count them.

I was delighted by the Old Dominion Freight Lines delivery folks. They called ahead as promised, arrived promptly and on time, and even hauled the crate up my sloped driveway into the garage. I hadn't expected that and had been worried about how I was going to manhandle the huge box up the driveway myself.
