Beginning my Hornet Gyro

I'm ham radio operator N7WWK, I have designed unique antennas for both public and private, working with aluminum for many years. I have also designed and built some unique creations. Most recent 3 wheel front steer recumbant trike, with electric peddle assist. I have some experience with working with aluminum, including the knowledge of the overlooked toxixity of aluminum. After cutting, drilling, milling, polishing, working aluminum I discovered aluminum is a nurotoxin and can be absorbed through the skin. Yes any thing that comes in contact with your skin is directly absorbed in the blood stream! This includes aluminum.

I devloped a perferial nuropothy, basic loss of feeling in the extremities. Detox was in order, now in great health. Most average builders will see no ill effects, you will not be exposed to sufficent quanities.

Flying has been a life-long dream, as young boy my father took me to many airshows pointing out the B-17's he flew. Back in the mid 80's I became intrested in gyroplanes, however as single parent of 2 small girls. I was mostly concerned raising my girls, working several jobs, paying for our house etc. Flying would just have to wait! But the F4U Coursair is my favorite aircraft.

So now its March 2020 I just turned 69. I have been gathering materials for several years. I had antenna manufacturing shop with all the cool tools. I started buying over time the anticipated aluminum 6061 T6511. This is the material we used to manufacture our antennas, Blue Star Antennas. 

So the journey continues March 01 2020 I began gathering all accumilated aluminum. Bins full of stainless steel bolts [316] I can at least test fit and bolt together the airframe. Swapping out for correct bolts as needed after painting, and final assembly.
