Finished rivetting wing ribs 4 to 10
I have not posted for a while. There are a lot of steps (and issues) leading to this point, which I will post at a later date. In summary quite a few fitting issues had to be resolved, including top flange adjustment on several of the ribs as well as front and bottom flange adjustment in some cases. The re-manufactured bottom skin attachment ribs had to be removed and adjusted in a couple of cases. Right hand rib 8 also created a few troubles, the front flange had to be adjusted again (as I formed a correct understanding of some tolerance issues in this area). I made a doubler as a precaution against any weakening and/or hardening (none noticeable), and also had to upsize some holes to 4.8mm to overcome some hole enlarging due to cleco wear and jamming.
Finished riveting ribs 4-10 into position. I have left some leading edge ribs clecoed in place pending a final check of the leading edge skin. RH leading edge rib 108 omitted as I am installing lights on the RH side as well, will be replaced by a RH rib 110. LH leading edge rib 110 omitted pending top-coating with white paint.
Right hand rib 8 clecoed in place pending need to upsize main spar connector holes to 4.8mm to overcome a mismatch issue. This will be covered in another posting.
Skin fit tests have shown there is a slight fit issue with ribs 4 - also will be covered elsewhere.
