Hammer adjust HS hinge bracket 1

The original HS hinge brackets 1 had a bend tolerance which caused the AN4 bolt holes to mismatch by 0.6mm, enough to make bolt placement impossible. The original bracket dimensions were 41.4mm and 40.8mm from the base to the AN4 hole centre. A new bracket was requested and supplied - it had a dimension of 41.6mm. The old 41.4mm and new 41.6mm brackets were close enough to each other but considerable forcing was required to get the elevator hinge bearing to match. This was explained by the fact that the design dimension is 40.9mm. I selected the original 41.4mm hinge and "rolled" the fold by nylon hammering over a suitably shaped anvil. The end result was a dimension of 40.93mm, close enough.r

The result was a good fit of the bolt and the elevator.

I have considered making a new hinge with 6061-T6 stock I have, but will try this out for now.
