Elevator and rudder fibreglass tip repair and adjustment

Septone gelcoat filler was used. Some sanding and filling of the trailing tips was required for a good fit with the trailing skin edges. Also, these tips had numerous visible and invisible bubbles/voids in the gel-coat. Some of these appeared as depressions and had to be picked open. The filler was sanded down first with 100 grit then 240 grit paper. I contacted Stewart Aircraft System and confirmed thay both EkoPrime and EkoPoxy can be applied directly over the filler, and even exposed fibreglass resin.
