Bolt-on steps - Part 4 - test fit

Test fit of the RH steps, after the longeron 501 fully rivetted. The bolts shown are AN3-6A, not the required AN3-7A so I left off the washers to ensure he bolt shoulder penetrated all layers at least partially. Note I have not installed the rivets or bolts (undecided) that will stitch together the upper step support and the custom doubler plate. Further, I have stripped the upper step supports back to bare metal, as the existing paint was deforming and chipping badly under the washers. The prospect of the bolts sustaining a reliable compressive load was small. I noticed the topcoat fell away easily with acetone, but the primer was highly resistant - probably a 2-pack epoxy. I will repaint in a similar silver colour, or maybe strip back the entire step and repaint with something else, or powder coat.
