Degreasing fuselage components and adjusting left wingtip
Degreased fuselage components which had been deburred, used Plascon GR1.
Feedback from Sling Technical Support on the wingtip trailing edge misalignment resulted in two suggestions to fix it - use a heatgun, and if that did not work, cut the wingtip 100mm - 200mm in from adjacent to the flap and then re-seat it using the appropriate resin and cotton flocks (flox mixture). After attempting the heat gun method, which did not work, I decided to cut the wingtip. Using a Dremel, I cut the left wingtip trailing edge 85mm in from the flap side and then used the cutting disc to grind away some excess fiberglass material which had been moulded in. The wingtip immediately took on a better shape and without too much effort the profile now looks great when held in place. It will need to be re-secured as per Sling's advice and then sanded nicely.
