Started riveting front bottom skins and installed other smaller parts
Installed Garmin GSU11 magnetometer in the rear fuselage using Sling-supplied brass machine screws, secured with Loctite 222. Inserted the pins from the Midwest Panel Builders tail harness into the Garmin DB9 connector per the wiring diagram after confirming the CAN bus high / low wiring colour scheme with MWPB. Need to buy some 8-32 machine screws to secure the ground lug to the DB9 shell.
Installed the ELT bracket using 5x16 mm stainless steel machine bolts with washers and nuts plus Loctite 277.
Installed M4 rivuts on components per KAI page 63 (flap actuator support brackets and other brackets)
Cut and ground down the snapped rivet mandrel for the one countersunk rivet inside the landing gear box. Achieved a good finish.
Riveted channels and reinforcing plates to the front bottom skin and cleco'd the front floor skin in place. Need more insulating foam before I can complete this work.
Riveted the flap actuator brackets to the flap actuator channel. Fitted the flap actuator motor temporarily to ensure the spacing between the brackets was correct when riveted in place. Discovered that the KAI recommended thin M5 washers but insufficient were supplied. Asked Sling to send more.
