Canopy Continues
Final canopy fitting drilling and shaping. Fiberglass canopy fairing.

This is a layer of epoxy to fill small holes. I will use a finer grit sandpaper and work this down, apply another layer of epoxy, sand and primer to see further areas to address.

Continued sanding, still have a few spots to address.

More sanding, getting close. Here I removed one layer of tape.

Added some filler and a couple small pieces of fiberglass to fill in low spots.

Sanding wasn't too bad. Just took my time and kept at it and before I knew it I had a pretty good shape.

Peel ply, now wait for the sanding.

I was a little stressed doing such a big fiberglass project. Following the plans and video made this come together nicely. Here is the final layup.

Strips if fiberglass cut per plans, other shapes not in picture.

Sanded, cleaned and ready to start fiberglass.

Epoxy layer to fill the gap. I am fabricating the fiberglass fairing on the fuselage.

Canopy removed from fuselage scuffed and prepared for fiberglass fairing.

Canopy re-fit and prepared for final shaping.

Glare shield painted flat black.
