First Production Sling High Wing build at the factory in South Africa
Today we began building the first production Sling High Wing - TSi - in the Sling Factory in South Africa. I chose to do a factory assist because it will be the fastest and, I believe, the most sensible way to build the first production aircraft (however, I am doing more then the required 51% of the build so don’t judge the standard factory assist program on my build). There are only two prototypes flying (one nose and one tail wheel), built by the factory, and I have the good fortune of having Dayne and Dylan who have built and/or worked on both of these aircraft, working with me. By building it at the factory, I will enjoy their experience on the build, have all the resources at hand should we need them, and we are working on the manuals as we build so I didn’t have to wait for them to be completed and am delighted to be a part of the process. Plus I get to get some time flying the prototype and it flies beautifully!
