Scott's RV-14 Build

EAA Workbench

I needed another, better workbench then the one I currently have. It's old, well used, not very rigid and the surface is not super flat. I modified the plans for the standard EAA Chapter 1000 workbench to make it taller, both to match my other workbench and because as a tall guy I prefer a higher work surface. I also added a 3/4" lip around the entire perimeter to make it easier to clamp things to it. I was extremely careful with my measurements, cuts and making sure things were square and level. Although the work surface is level much to my consternation once I added the casters it has a 1/16" rock.....Grrrrrrr…...frustrating. Sigh, I can't even build a stupid workbench right. How am I ever gonna build a safe, airworthy plane...? Overall, my shop is nearly complete. I'm pretty happy with the layout given the limitations of my garage, I only lack a compressor which has been ordered. I'm hoping I can finally dive into the practice kits in the next week or so.
