Rudder Trailing Edge

I'd hoped to put in a solid 16+ hours on the plane over the past couple days but got sidetracked with my ductless AC installation. I hadn't expected it to be so soon but when my HVAC buddy offered his time and professional expertise to get it done I jumped at it. It was time and money well spent and the $3287 charge noted above was the total cost for the installation. I've no doubt it would have cost me at least $1000 more had I used anyone else. I hated getting sidetracked off building but AC is not a nice-to-have but absolutely-must-have for the AZ summer months.

I did manage to get in 3 hours tonight on the rudder. I successfully countersunk the new lead rudder weight that Van's sent me. Much happier with this one. I got the R-912 rib the weight sits on riveted to the spar and also trimmed the trailing edge per plans. Van's tech support did finally get back to me a few days ago, telling me the previous countersinks in the old weight were much too big but that the holes could be filled in with JB Weld and redone. Glad I got a new weight instead.
