More Dimpling And Countersinking Fuselage Parts
Another long day. First tackled the dimpling of the left side skin. Working solo a lot of time was spent configuring saw horses to support the skin as I got towards each end due to its length. As the right side did, dimpling the curved edge added time too. Then moved on to countersinking all the #40 holes in both 9' long longerons. In theory by using a countersink cage on my cordless drill this process should go quickly once I get it set up and adjusted right. The reality is every hole is a little inconsistent so I have to measure every one. And there's a lot of them. They all have to be .007" deeper then flush to accept the dimple from the overlying skin. Too shallow and the skin won't lie flush. To deep and you go all the way through the longeron and enlarge the hole. Its ends up being a tedious process. Will be glad to get through this part and start assembling things again.
