Aileron Pushrods
Spent the past couple days fabricating the four aileron pushrods. Got the first two and longest ones completed uneventfully and now working on the two smaller ones. These have proven more challenging as they are steel and I need to drill precision holes in the ends that are 90 degrees offset from each other. A drill press is required. I've got a cheapo Harbor Freight bench drill press that isn't making my job easier. Even when using a vee-block to center the tubing the drill bit wanders enough that the holes aren't consistently centered. Fortunately, I've got scrap tubing to practice with. My 2 choices are to bite the bullet and buy a quality bench drill press or find someone with a drill press I can use.

Prepping the pushrod tubes.

Using a template to drill the rod end rivet holes.

After priming, riveting in the threaded rod ends.

Two completed aileron pushrods.

Drilling test holes in steel scrap. Tough to get them centered and offset 90 degrees.
