Fairing Holes Drilled

I finished blind drilling all 27 holes in the fairing. It was slow work setting up magnets in groups of 4, ensuring the exterior magnets were centered and then drilling. I also backed up the magnets with careful measurements of hole locations to improve the results. Once drilled to #40 size I carefully upsized them to #33 then reamed them to #30. This helped line up the prexisting holes in the structure with any slightly offset holes in the fairing and kept the holes round. The holes need to be further upsized to #27 to accept a #6 screw. There’s still much to do such as installing nut plates, countersinking the fiberglass and using flox to fill in minor gaps between the skin and fairing.
