Brakes
Ordered new hardware for the right axle. Longer NAS1304-22 bolts were impossible to find on-line. I had to research awhile to find that NAS 66XX bolts had superseded the NAS 13XX series. Fortunately, Spruce had the NAS 6604-22 bolts I needed. They'll be here Wednesday and I can get that right axle finished up. Temporarily reinstalled the wheels and got the fuselage back on the ground. Both brake calipers installed and also the Cooling Flap Assembly temporarily in. The actuating cable will be installed later. Then I moved on to the brake lines. This involved fabricating two 72" long lines in 1/4" 3003 aluminum tubing. I broke out my flaring tool and reviewed a couple videos on how to use it. The last time was when I made my fuel lines a couple years ago. I did a few practice flares on scrap and then the flight articles which went fine. Then it involved installed one end at the firewall fitting and then hand bending, fitting and securing the tubing down the motor mount and gear leg with Adell clamps and frication tape. The line arcs in a circle around the lower axle before connecting to the brake caliper.
