Baffling Attached To Engine

Got the 4 sections of baffling attached to the engine. Like so many things on the plane it wasn't just a quick "bolt it on and good to go." The first issue was getting longer Lycoming engine case bolts. Although the plans say reuse the hardware, when the baffle mounting brackets are installed along the top of the engine the additional bracket thickness makes the bolts too short. My plan was to go from stock 1.50" bolts to slightly longer 1.63" bolts. This length was backordered everywhere I looked. After consulting Lycoming tech support, they recommended using readily available 1.75" bolts and adding washers as needed if too many threads were showing pas the nut. The new bolts arrived today and worked fine. Then the 2 rear baffles needed some coaxing and trimming to fit correctly to eliminate rubbing and get all the mounting holes to line up correctly. This took a bit of time. Now everything fits as it should.
