New Dimple Dies and C-Frame Base
I recieved new dimple dies and a C-frame base set from Cleaveland yesterday and was finally able to resume dimpling. I installed the new base plate and .401 insert in the C-frame and there seemed to be much less play then the old one. I also paid particular attention to alignment of the ram and base. I dimpled the rest of the stabilizer skin using the C-frame and squeezer and have started dimpling the spars and ribs. I tried using my new hard plastic mallet on the C-frame but went back to my ball peen hammer. Just felt the dimples were crisper and formed quicker using the ball peen. Hopefully the new 3/32" dies will hold up under use. An added bonus was Cleavland sending a second set of 3/32" dies as a spare, again with no charge and via priority mail. So now I've got spares if needed.
