Day 2
Assembly of the horizontal stabilizer
We spent the first three hours of the day buying odds and ends that we needed. Carpet for the tables. 120-degree countersink bit. Sharpie markers. Tabletop drill press.
- We affixed the carpet to the workbenches using a pneumatic stapler.
- We laid out the parts and reviewed the assembly drawings.
- Countersunk 16 holes.
- Assembled the pneumatic rivet puller and fired up the compressor.
- Clecoed the entire assembly (Didn't have black Clecos. Placed an order with Aircraft Spruce.)
- Riveted the assembly together.
Very straightforward process. No surprises.
