Day 93
Landing Light Covers & Firewall
Worked on getting the landing light covers fitted and prepped for installation after paint.
First the backing plate needed to be bent to match the leading edge curvature. Then Cleco’ed to the lens cover. 6 holes were then drilled and countersunk so that after the plate is painted it can be riveted to the lens, allowing easy installation of the cover after paint.
We also worked on getting all the rivnuts, grommets, brackets, bottles and boot covers installed on the firewall. (We first removed the previously mounted motor mount to slow easier access to the firewall.)
We are working to have as much as possible pre mounted on the firewall so that when the motor goes on all we’ll need to do is hook up the lines, hoses and wires.
