Day 154
Wire Rerouting
More valuable lessons learned today. Make doubly sure the wire harnesses are ran where they should be before finishing everything up.
When we first ran the main wire harness down the center channel and routed it underneath the rear seat to the rear fuselage, we thought we had followed the plan, but must have misread them and ended up one rib to far. We didn’t realize how the rudder trim servo mounted here, and the wires would have been in the way and absolutely would not have worked where we had ran them.
This wouldn’t have been too big of an issue to fix, other than we had already ran, hooked up, and secured everything from this point back. We ended up having to take a great deal back apart, pull 3/4’s of the harness back out and rerouted from the main spar back.
We were however, successful in finally getting the forward head jacks to fit. We routed all the wires and cables back through in a way that they shouldn’t obstruct anything.
We also ran the the last two cables for the Transponder and bottom COM antenna. Then we put the appropriate coaxial connectors on them.
