Day 164
Firewall Forward Wiring.
Got 98% of the firewall forward wiring completed today! It looks great. We were able to finish the firewall circuit breaker block, airframe grounds, and starter connections today.
The only wiring we have left to complete is the fuel pressure sensor unit which we will finish after we its final location as we hook up the fuel system.
As well we have the extension wiring for the auxiliary fuel pump. We’ve ordered the 18awg wire for it and should arrive within the next week.
We did run into a bit of a problem today. As we were hooking up the starter cables we noticed that the Rotax fuse box seemed loose. Upon further inspection, two of the rubber mounts had broken. The metal tabs that are glued on them just sheared of. We found some replacement ones online that have a higher shear weight capacity. We’ve sent them an email and hope to hear from them within a day. We’re going to replace all four of the mounts. Hopefully we don’t have to take all the wires back off of the box, but if we do, oh well. Can’t have bad mounts.
