Engine Cowling - Pt 19

After a LOT of sanding, applying fiberglass, more sanding, etc, I FINALLY reached a point where I am happy with the fit of the two nose bowl halves. In the picture, I have located the nose bowl back onto the engine to see how the new inlet openings affected the baffleing. I will have to make a modification to the LH side baffle (shown on the right in the picture) but it will be a rather minor mod.

I intend to complete some more finish sanding on the nose bowl, then rivet together the sheet metal portions of the engine cowling. These pieces were primed and painted with a white base coat as will be the nose bowl before riveting.

Once the sheetmetal is riveted together I will then reposition the sheetmetal to the nose bowl as outlined in the builders manual.
