Cleanup and alodining of disassembled wing spar components
On dismantling the spar caps, I did a little cleaning up. The chuck reamed edges of the AN bolt holes in both the caps and core had some burrs, so I applied a little deburring. I also alodined the surfaces as well as any deburred regions. One of the spar caps was actually engraved with another date - hidden from view until now - perhaps this had been marked in preparation for use then returned to stock. I saw no evidence of material loss perhaps due to a previous reaming.
I buffed the engraved dates on the spar caps to remove any profile and protected with alodine
