Completion of pitot tube couplings
Looking at Pascal Latten's blog a flared diameter of 7mm was used for the 3/16" OD pitot aluminium tubing. Looking at some other flares the optimal diameter is just a bit smaller than the collar diameter. Mine were originally 8mm - a bit large. So I trimmed and repeated the flaring operation.
Details of the torqueing of the flare couplings given below. All oil was flushed out with the help of turps.
The air-couplings were tightened firmly (no particular recommended torque value could be found), after applying Loctite 577 in a thin layer on the threads, after initial activation with Loctite 7471.
Edit 12 Feb 22: found a table on Latten's blog - flare diameter for 3/16 OD tubing should be in the range 6.61-7.11 mm so good
