Assemble centre-fuselage floor
Photo essay
Note I have topcoated some areas. This is to reduce the need to direct spray into tight corners during final spraying.

Clearance for 3.2mm rivet tail made in outer floor stringer, one each side. Primed later

Typical clearance for 4mm rivet tail made in outer floor stringer, 2 one side, 1 on the other

Middle rivet hole opened up (both sides) and dimpled in pedal mounting channel and floor, as these hole partly lie under the toe bracket ends

Need for countersunk rivet

Custom shims for lower engine mounts

Lower engine mounts roughed and primed, and riveted with yellow Duralac

Slight 4mm hole elongation on bottom skin (due to slight misalignment with pedal mounting channel holes) for double rudder pedal mounting brackets, but small enough to be filled by tail swelling

Primary alignment of the mounting brackets was ensured by pushing down on the bushes. Duralac green used on all-aluminium rivet connections

Completed assembly. The toe brackets will be riveted later, and the outer bracket must be donw after the inner front side skins inserted between the bottom skin and rudder mounting channel

Test fit - looking good. The side flange holes in the remanufactured floor skin will be made later, match-drilled to the side skin holes.
