Left rear fuselage top skin installation
Riveted fuselage left rear top skin in position. Installed the ELT and antenna reinforcement plates on the top of the fuselage and then fitted the M4 rivnuts after applying Loctite 277. Installed snap bushing for the ELT RG 400 cable and pulled the cable through.
Installed foam inside the parachute cable tray and then riveted it to the fuselage.
Painted the luggage door stiffening angle black and then riveted it in place.
I cut a section of aluminium out of a defective fuselage side support rib, which is nice and sturdy (and helpfully had a convenient hole exactly the right side for an AN fitting), and then fabricated a bracket for the brake line bulkhead AN fitting - the factory hole is too large and is designed for a grommet with the plastic brake hose passing through. I've upgraded to TS Flightlines stainless steel braided PTFE (Teflon) lines which do not require maintenance and have AN fittings. I'm very pleased with the fit and quality. Once the bracket was complete, I painted it black and then riveted it to the firewall where it fits perfectly.
Started test fitting the brake lines.
