Back at it!
After a year and a half away from working on the Bearhawk finally got back to it today. The main reason for the delay was converting the barn in to a work shop and todays work session was the first from the new shop!
I left the build at making the wing rib stiffener angles and that's where I picked up. In the year since I left the build I built a 3d printer and saw an opportunity to put it to use for a tool to assist with the process of creating the rib stiffeners. The tool provides measurements for length and width of stock, it provides a guide for nipping the corner of the stiffener at 45 degrees and it includes a drilling guide for the rivets. The 3d model was done is SolidWorks and can be updated using 3 parameters to accommodate the different angles required.
I already had a sufficient qty of angles at a length of 5.75" but needed to drill them for rivets. Done.
All remaining 0.25 stiffeners were created and trimmed. They are all ready for predrilling of rivet holes next.
