Aft Fuselage rib & Luggage Extension construction
Nov 19, 2021
All of the ribs are in the aft fuselage are made up of different parts, such as reinforcing brackets, angles and support ribs. This makes them strong and designed for different functions.
The instructions are clear regarding the rib construction. In addition to being mindful of where not to rivet pending installation with other parts, the direction of the bend of the Horizontal Stablizer reinforcement bracket, there are also anchor nut installations that require countersinking the back side for the flush rivets.
The kit comes with a jig to build some of the ribs while constructing.
We were able to do put most of the ribs together but are awaiting a part from manufacturing so will not be able to proceed clecoing the fuselage quite yet.
We put the luggage extension box together. When cleaning out the holes at the aft end of the box it was important to allow the drill to do the work and not push down so as not to bend the inside flange.
