Stringers / ELT tray / Firewall / GPS tray
Stringers
Attached and riveted the stringers into place. I had already bent and corrosion prepped them.
ELT tray
Fabricated a tray to mount an ELT on behind the aft bulkhead. The first attempt was a mess - my first go at riveting. So I re-made it after lunch. Used some thin angle extrusion and sheet .025. The second attempt was passable.
Firewall
Bolted the firewall permanently to the airframe. This was reasonable straight forward as I had already done all the preparation yesterday.
GPS tray
Fabricated a mounting tray to hold the GPS antenna, behind the skylight. I was very pleased with the riveting and the overall quality. Now corrosion prepped and ready to install tomorrow.
Skylight
Removed the skylight frames by drilling out the rivets to take a look at how I’m going to install the acrylic. The way it is designed is for 3 panels, but I plan to do it with one large one. I’ll heat mold it to get the angles in it.
