Covering trim tabs and horizontal stabilizers
Stabs and trim tabs
Continued covering the horizontal stabs and trim tabs by adding tapes. These took a lot more work and time than I had thought. Will give them a final iron in the morning to finish the tapes, secure and remove air bubbles.
Last thing will be to add water drains.
Looking forward to moving on to the next stage now after several weeks of covering the empennage.
Up coming jobs:
Doors - Planning to add front door latches which will take several days once the hardware arrives.
Belly skin - Need to fabricate an aluminium panel for under the belly forward of the oleos. I’ll make a template from card first as it runs up under the door sills and has to integrate with existing nut-plates on the tunnel.
Avionics - I’m in the process of getting a Dynon avionics order together, probably using Dynon Panel (less) Builder and the ACM advanced control module. It’s complicated......so I’m spending slot of time studying it to get it right. AircraftSpruce sell a lot of the components and often at cheaper prices. They also make the harnesses too.
