Nose bowl, Instrument panel

Most of this afternoon was spent removing the prop and preparing the circular MDF cut-outs to screw either side of the nose bowl and mount it to the prop flange.

The spinner needs to sit 23mm from the prop shaft flange. I used the fly-wheel to mark the bolt holes. The existing bolts are too short so I’ll buy some longer ones tomorrow.

The next step is to mount aluminium stringers between the firewall and the nose bowl.

To do this the firewall needs to be fixed in position so it won’t move, so I installed the boot cowl and instrument panel in place too. Tomorrow I’ll make stringers to hold the instrument panel in place once the top boot cowl is removed for wiring.
