Fuel pump overflow, FAB, Oil breather
Fuel pump overflow
This morning I installed the overflow for the fuel pump. It still needs to be secured at the outlet end.
Oil breather
I ran the oil breather hard tube up the left outside of the engine mount. I’ll need to buy another flexible tube to connect the top end. I’ll wait until I have the exhaust back and in place before I secure the breather in place as it may need to be moved. If the hard line doesn’t fit I’ll get a flexible line and run it down the firewall.
Fuel Servo & Filtered Air Box
First up, I spent several hours reading the assembly and installation instructions. Next was to fit the bracket that supports the control cables. This is fitted between the fuel servo and the Sump. I noticed that the studs were not long enough to provide one thread clearance once the nuts were on, so I removed the studs and exchanged them for the ones I had removed from the prop governor. One of the studs was very difficult to remove. I finally got it out with some penetrating anti-seize. The studs I removed were different lengths which surprised me.
Tomorrow I’ll work on the FAB itself.
