Firewall penetration, remove engine, oil breather, oil access door
I removed the engine this morning and fitted another firewall penetration. Removing the engine took a while. The oil cooler had to be removed to access one engine bolt but other than that was pretty straight forward.
This enabled me to also add another AN3 bolt through the firewall to secure the battery box, and I’ll use the same bolt to secure the ignition control wires with an Adel clamp.
I also purchased a better fitting for the oil breather tube with a 90 degree bend and a reducer. This seems to fit very well.
This evening I cut the oil access door hatch, and fabricated the support structure. I then riveted the support lip into place and made the door.
