Front Doors
I managed to finally finish the front left door today. There’s still a few hours to go on the front right door, but I’ve cut the acrylic for it. It took a while to add the rivnuts, and make a new Kydex panel. This one is a lot slimmer and fits better too. I used Modified Silicon to bond the acrylic pane in place, then screwed the angled aluminium brackets into place.
The doors have taken a lot of work because I modified them from the original design. I’d definitely do it again, though I’d probably try a composite door next time. I think there’s plenty of weight savings to be made and the design could be refined even more. But so far I feel that they’re a big improvement over the split doors.
