Cowl, Air Intake, Skylight

Cowl

This morning I fitted the cowl, then marked and trimmed to allow for the exhaust pipes. It’s just an initial fitting to allow the cowl to fit in place. Tomorrow I’ll measure and cut to the full size opening.

Air Intake

I trimmed the Vans air intake down to size. It could have been better, but I found with the compound curves it was difficult to get a good match of the curvature of the cowl. The next step is to fibreglass a new lip in place so it can be attached to the cowl.

Skylight

I remade the skylight, this time using a blunter drill bit. So far it’s good with no cracks at all. I’ve fitted it and used clecos to hold the shape. Tomorrow I’ll add longer zinc plated machine screws, with nylocs to lock in place.
