Rear Spar Riveting
Spent today riveting in the rear spar. First had to attach it to the interspar ribs with a combination of AN470-4 and LP-4 rivets. I struggled a bit with the AN470 rivets in the center section and also a couple along the aft portion of the spar. It was only 12 rivets total but took way too much time. The thicker 1/8" rivets are not as forgiving as the 3/32" -3 rivets and I was forced to remove 2 of them after clinching one and having the bucking bar mispositioned on the other. Fortunately they came out uneventfully. The pulled rivets went in quick with no problems. I then started on the final trailing edge flush rivet and got 25% of those done. It would be nice to use the squeezer on these but with how the factory rivet heads are oriented the squeezer would be tough. It's easier to just buck them in.
