Starting The Elevator

I received a call from Van's tech support regarding yesterdays email about using LP4 rivets in lieu of AN470-4 rivets on the stabilizer nose ribs. In a nutshell the LP4 rivets aren't strong enough in tension for that application. I kind of figured that but it was worth asking. I appreciated the call and their quick response. I asked the guy how Van's is doing due to COVID-19 and he said while kit sales are down, part sales are way up because so many are home now and building. I'll need to enlist an experienced helper in the weeks ahead to finish those ribs because I only want to do it once and running the gun will be a 2-handed affair with the double offset set on it. So with the stab complete except for that I hung it high in my garage where it won't get damaged and started reading Section 9, Elevator and pulling out needed parts. It's looks to be pretty complicated with a lot of internal parts like the rudder had.
