Wing Stand Construction

With my QB fuselage and wings to be delivered in late July it was time to build a wing stand. I used Mouser's RV-10 wing stand design with modifications from Shawn's RV-14 Build and Alex's RV-14 Build wing stands. In the end I shortened it to 8' 6" to accommodate the shorter RV-14 wings and widened the sling supports from 16" to 18". I searched in vain for a scrap of free carpeting to use as a sling and ended up buying an 8' used hall runner from a local thrift store that's 24" wide. I may trim it thinner but for now I'm leaving it as is. I found that the staples I used to attached the carpet disappeared in the pile and were tough to locate so I marked their locations with dabs of orange paint in case it need to remove them and adjust the slings. Thanks to a friend who's building an RV-14A I have a well built fuselage stand ready to go.
