More Fuselage Odds & Ends

Spent time doing more little things until I can get some muscle to help me move the fuselage sections to my 2 workbenches for joining. I finished the shoulder harness lugs by priming and riveting them together. Then spend time per plans feathering skin corners on each side of the forward fuselage to a thinner cross section with a sanding block. It doesn't say why but I think its to provide a better appearance and smoother transition when those skin corners form lap joints when mated with the aft fuselage. Then I spent a bunch of time on my back drilling out 24 temporary rivets installed by Vans in the aft part of the forward fuselage. This was a pain because nearly all the rivets spun when I tried to drill the heads and access to the backside on several was difficult. I eventually got them all out OK but it took way longer then it needed to and involved liberal profanity. I'm not sure why Vans does it this way. Cheaper I guess. They could've installed 24 clecos in those holes from the inside that could've been removed in moments with much less chance of damage. I'd have happily paid extra for that to avoid the hassle.
