Top Cowling Progressing

Got the top cowling aft hinge line drilled. Spent yet more time tweaking the fit and glad I did. The cowling was proud of the fuselage in the curved transition to the fuselage sides. I finally realized that the interior cowling honeycomb structure wasn't allowing the hinges to lie completely flat against the fiberglass. Some sanding and removal of 1/16" off a small section of the hinge line allowed everything to fit correctly. I also tweaked a few of the hinge eyelets inboard which further reduced any cowling bulging. After carefully measuring the 42 holes I got it drilled and clecoed. The clecoes drew everything in nice and tight. For now, I've got a nice tight seam along the entire aft edge of the cowling that's also flush with the forward fuselage skins. Now moving on to the lower cowling.
