Day 38
Luggage Compartment
There are a whole lot of pieces that go into making this luggage compartment come together. Had it together and apart twice, figuring out the best way to assemble it inside the rear fuselage framework. The way the manual shows it would have been far to difficult to get to many of the rivets and brackets. There were also a few holes that had to be drilled that were not pre-existing in a few places. Came to the conclusion the best plan of action was to assemble and rivet all the support structures in place first. This will work out better anyways because we’re still working out some wiring details, that once done will be able to quickly rivet in the floor skin. We were also able to trim out some foam on the luggage skin panels for sound deadening and heat insulation.
