Days 43-45

Center Fuselage Floor & Joiner

Lots going on these few days. We were able to assemble the center fuselage floor, run some wire in the rear fuselage, complete the luggage shelf with extension, and Cleco’ed the center and rear fuselages together.

The floor presented a couple of challenges, the manual still is not very clear at times when it comes to when certain things should be assembled or not. It shows some parts being rivnuted together for the center console earlier on without any verbiage that a few of them will need to be rivnuted together later. We were able to drill them back out, but was still slightly frustrating not understanding when they needed done.

We are also running into a similar situation with the joining of the floor with the main center spar. We can not seem to locate in the manual where it shows this being done. We will be emailing Sling support early this week to ask where we can find that.

The wiring for the rear fuselage went well. We are really starting to get an idea for how everything will come together. After that was ran down the side longerons we were able to button up the luggage shelf along with the extension box. It took a little bit to get all the rivet holes to line up, but after a little while it all came together.

we finished out the week by getting the rear and center fuselages Cleco’ed together. Next we’ll be able to put the rear floor skin on and riveted everything together while We await a response from sling about the center spar and how the floor is to attach.
