Day 61
Fuel Tanks
Today was lots of clear drilling and deburring. Yesterday we set the right fuel tank on the wing so that everything was aligned properly as it would fit on the wing. Then today, made sure everything was Cleco’ed properly and set about clear drill and deburring everything. It’s a time consuming undertaking, but a necessary one to insure the sealing process goes as smoothly as possible. There is only a two hour work time with the sealant once it is mixed, so everything needs to be ready to go.
Once all the holes were finished, it was dismantled and the inside frame was clear drilled and prepped. All that is left for this tank is to hook up a few fittings, countersunk a few holes for the fuel cap and assemble the fuel sender unit. Then it will be ready for sealant early next week.
