Day 73
Interior Insulation.
It’s been a few days since we’ve made an update. We have moved our plane to a new location. We are very excited. It has lots of space and a large paint booth for when it comes time to paint.
Today we worked on figuring how the interior sides are meant to go. We measured out where the heater ductwork is meant to go by clecoing in the front panel and measuring back 90mm. These panels are meant to have a T-connection, so the part that is on there will have to be drilled off and have the other one riveted on. We were reading up on how the heater lines are to work and it’s the only way the system will run.
We then took the composite air intakes and marked where the holes are to go. Next we drilled the holes and countersunk them. Lastly we Cleco’ed them in place so that we would know where to put the sound proofing foam up to.
Following the manual we put fire resistant sound proofing foam on the interior side panels of the center fuselage. Each is a custom cut from a roll of insulation. The backing paper is removed and the PSA foam is put in place.
The floor will also need to be done, but there was not enough foam included in the kit. Tried a few stores around town, but no one carried anything that would work, so we’ll have to order some.
