Day 156
Heater
Today we got the heater box assembled and mounted.
this required unscrewing the box apart and inserting the vent plate before closing it back up.
Then the 4 mounting plates get screwed on as well as the water valve.
Before it gets mounted in the plane, the water lines are installed. One of them gets custom trimmed to fit the water valve. These hoses then go through the firewall while the heater box is getting placed inside the plane. It was important to make sure the hoses were parallel to one another so that they would pass throughout the firewall properly, after the one had been trimmed.
We mapped out how the vent hoses and fittings were to be placed. We will be running most of the vents and most likely leave the ends hanging for the time being. It seems it will be easier to paint the plane first before finishing the cabin vents. They will still be accessible after the front top skin is installed and after it is painted. Then when we go to put the dash in we will have the vent hoses ready.
