Day 194
Motor Cowling
We were able to get our spinner spacer jig made today. It looks so amazing! We made it out of 1/8 inch plastic with a laser cutter. We put our diameters in and got them made to the perfect specs. Making it out of the 1/8 plastic allowed us the ability to customize the depth of the spacers.
We made an inner set the the cowling would fit around. Then we mad an outer set that the cowling would then butt up against. We then mounted the blade hip to hold it all in place.
Next we were able to set the cowling up on the motor over the jig. It worked perfectly! We then took some measurements to find center and made some marks so that each time we set it back up on the motor it will be in the same place.
We will now be able to start trimming the cowling to fit the fuselage!
