Day 242
Wiring
Today we worked on a number of wiring projects.
The fuel sender wire we were going to use the existing plug provided by Midwest panels used for the wing wiring, but it was advised to bring that wire through with the fuel lines so that it would not have to cross through the spar and potentially rub. So we brought the sender wire through the main spar and out through the same place as the fuel lines. We then soldered the wire. Then when the wing is installed we’ll plug the wire into the sender.
While we were at moving all the wires, we then mounted the wing wire harness plugs to the sides of the fuselage with four m3 bolts.
Today we also started the wiring for the joysticks. We had to splice in a ground wire for each stick. We soldered in about an 8inch wire with a crimped ring terminal that will be attached to one of the inspection plate bolts.
We also had the vinyl guys here today to take a look at our plane. They’re working to get us an estimate back on how much they think it will be to do the striping we were thinking of doing on the plane. We shall see. If it’s more than we want to spend, we’ll come up with a different idea.
